Will keppra (levetiracetam) lower my white blood count?

RARELY: Although suppression of bone marrow is very rare with Keppra, (levetiracetam) dropping of white count, especially lymphocytes may be seen. Would be very surprised if this decrease is of any significance. Would recheck in about 14 days, and if a trend lower, would address regardless of cause.

Not usually: Keppra (levetiracetam) can lower the white blood cell count uncommonly in adults but in up to 2% of children(usually mildly and not requiring discontinuation). Serious lowering of the critical Neutrophil count(Neutropenia) is rare but can occur.
