Renal stone?: Kidney failure per se does not cause pain. A kidney stone trying to make it through the ureter does cause severe pain. If you have severe abdominal pain, it would be prudent to see your doctor for an evaluation.

I had a abdomen ct scan performed for kidney stones and a relative change in sigmoid caliber was noted, with no evidence of mass lesion. A follow up colonoscopy was recommended which did not reveal any findings. Are there common explanations/causes?
