Brown discharge: The color brown only refers to the fact that the blood has been in your vaginal vault longer than usual otherwise it would have been the usual red. For any number of non dangerous reason it was slower than usual to flow. Watch but don't worry. Obviously, if persists get an OB exam which would be prudent at your age anyway.

Old blood: Brown discharge is old blood. It probably means nothing, but if it continues month after month check with your gynecologist.
