Find out why: Some women will normally have spotting for a few days after the menstrual flow, but if there is spotting more than 5 days or any erratic spotting between periods, it should be checked. It could be due to a polyp or an overgrowth of the lining of the uterus which could even lead to cancer in rare cases. It could also be due to a hormone imbalance which may need to be corrected.

Timing is everything: From your notes, it is hard to know exactly when you started your birth control pills; but you appear to have waited at least 8 days from the last day of your period to start your oc, when your body was preparing to ovulate. Call your practitioner and be aware that you are not adequately protected at this point from getting pregnant.

Many possibilities: This may not be significant but requires a detailed history including the duration of this change and probably also an examination and possibly some testing to allow a complete answer.
