Wait it out: If your period starts in a day or so, it would be just a normal variation in the length of the period. If you miss your period, so a pregnancy test, if the result is negative repeat it in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex.
