Dr. Alvin Lin answered

Urinary retention: Bladder cancer is relatively uncommon in young men. Voiding less could be due to less urine volume from dehydration. Or perhaps uncontrolled diabetes is now controlled. In older men, enlarged prostate can block flow (which can be aggravated by decongestants). Medications w/anticholinergic side effects can decrease bladder contraction so again less push to pee.
