Allergy: Itching is also suspicious for a chemical release called histamine. The body uses this in response to an allergy challenge. Pollen, dust, outside chemical contamination all may be causes. The eyelids are very thin so some swelling can be present. If white part of eye is reddish may be start of pinkeye. Place cool slice cucumber over eye for 15 minutes to help and see MD soon if continues itching
