A member asked:

Is my gynocologist putting me at risk by refusing to see me with osteoprosis of -3.7 spine for another six months? and why would she do this?

No: Osteoporosis is not reversed overnight. Your risk of fracture is increase, you should be on a therapy now though. In addition, you bone density is low for your age, you should see a physician to assess why. You may have some metabolic problems that are resulting in your bone loss.

Osteoporosis: If your DEXA bone density is greater then 2.5 standard deviations then you are at risk and have osteoporosis. When you say that your gyn refuses to see you did the doctor say you don't need to come in for 6 months ? You should be on medication for your osteoporosis as well as being on calcium and vit. D supplements. If not then talk with your doctor. If the doctor won't see you find another.
