DVT or Phlebitis: This can be a very dangerous situation. If the redness and swelling includes your calves then you need to seek immediate emergency medical care. If the rash and sores are just in the front of the lower legs this could be phlebitis. In either case you need medical attention. If you are having any shortness of breath or chest pain you need to call 911.
