Small chance: The only way to minimize chance for your child to get Measles from the recent exposure, you should get your child the second MMR at the earliest convenience.

~ 15%: The estimated effectiveness of a single measles vaccine given on or after the first birthday is 85%. The 2nd dose, given as early as a month later or around 4-5 yrs (to prepare for school exposure) is thought to bring the protected rate above 95%. You say the contact was brief, and if so their may have been no significant exposure.

Measles vaccine: Immunity to measles develops in 95-98% of children who are vaccinated at age 12-15 months. A small proportion ( less than 5%) loses antibodies after several years. More than 99% of chilren who receives 2 doses separated by at least 4 weeks develop long term immunity to Measles.
