Soundwaves: Ultrasound simply uses sound waves to generate an image so it would not directly causes bleeding. If this was a transvaginal sonogram then lubricant is applied and any blood in the back of the vagina already might come out and be visualized. You could contact the Obgyn who did the sonogram to see if any abnormalities were seen in the sono that would explain irregular bleeding.
