Abdominal trauma: Sports and activities do not directly hurt a pregnancy. It is the potential for abdominal trauma (falling, getting hit) that puts pregnancy at risk. Field hockey is a rough high contact sport. IF you were my patient I would ask you to stop playing around 14 -16 weeks when the uterus is large enough to no longer be protected by the pubic bone.
