ACE inhibitors & ARB: Ace inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers (arb) can help depending on the cause and severity. Good blood pressure control is also important and good diabetes management if applicable.

Proteinuria: It is not normal and healthy to have protein in your urine. Diabetes can cause kidney damage where you leak small amounts of protein in your urine. Diabetes is one of the leading causes of kidney disease and kidney failure. Medication that changes the way blood flows through the kidneys can help protect somewhat from the process that causes the protein to leak into the urine.
