Yes!: It is very possible for a woman to ovulate at irregular times in her cycle. Occasionally the spotting is nothing more than mild irritation however if you are having other symptoms, such as abnormal discharge or odor with the spotting you will need to see your gyno. Your doctor can run early pregnancy tests to check for a pregnancy.
