Not likely: An untreated pond (/"swimming hole")...Maybe...But you would see it all over the news if dozens of women got mystery trich. As to resistance, switch to different medicine. Untreated can cause "mystery" low abdominal pains--kinda non-descript and vague discomfort in low abdomen.
