Variable: Sore breasts may be normal in the second half of the cycle. However, milky discharge may not be normal if you are not lactating or pregnant. A prolactin level would signify if you need further work up for milk production in a non pregnant, non lactating woman. Benign tumors in the pituitary gland can produce prolactin producing mile production in non pregnant women. Tell your doctor this story.
