Hi i'm having black stool i heard that taking pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) can do this now i'm not having any blood in my stool and i could be pregnant should this be happening?

Taking peptobismol : Peptobismol can indeed cause dark stools whether you are pregnant or not. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding can also do so. The concern is that you could be taking the peptobismol for a condition that causes bleeding. Check with your OB about the problem and have it evaluated. Be safe. Hope this helps.
