A member asked:

I've been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and nutcracker esophagus. how do i determine which is causing my symptoms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably nutcracker : IF your symptom is chest pain, its probably the nutcracker. IF you have heartburn and/or regurgitation, its probably the lower esophageal sphincter. IF the her is is large (paraesophageal), the symptoms would be chest pressure and difficulty eating. There is much more info on this, and I hope this helps clarify a couple things or guide your own research.
