No: Epididymitis is a clinical diagnosis with symptoms such as swelling of the testicle/epididymis, tenderness to the touch, fevers/chills, etc. A scrotal ultrasound and blood work are helpful but not necessary. A course of antibiotics usually will take care of the problem.
