Ceravarix is useful as a preventive vaccine provided you start taking it before you have been infected with HPV16(that means before you have had any sex). Once you have acquired HPV16 infection, then the vaccine is not expected to be all that useful. Yes you are at some risk for developing Cancer of cervix

Depends: If you are previously infected with several HPV strains (primarily the 2 in Cervarix) the shot is unlikely to benefit you.IF YOU WERE NOT PREVIOUSLY INFECTED BY THE OTHER STRAIN IN THE SHOT,IT WOULD HELP PROTECT YOU AGAINST GETTING THAT STRAIN. Since you say you had 16 in the past, you must continue regular exams and testing because you risk cervical cancer.
