A member asked:

Can alopecia areata n sebopsoriasis occur at the same time?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unrelated: The hair loss associated with alopecia areata is smooth and without scale. Sebopsoriasis is inflammatory with very adherent thick scale. It is unlikely for them to occur at the same time. If you are losing hair and have associated hair loss you should be evaluated by a doctor for possible fungus of the scalp. You may need a fungal culture or a skin biopsy to help you secure a diagnosis.
