Structural Heart: Echocardiography is very useful for evaluating structural heart disease. The valves, chambers and function of the muscle can be determined. In addition the pressures inside the heart can be indirectly determined. Although arterial blockages cannot be assessed, the evidence for these can be seen if severe. Limitations do exist based on body weight, shape and size. Your doctor can tell you more.
