Discharge: I wouldn't make that assumption. I would get checked for an infection first. The perimenopause is more likely to cause irregular periods, though at 47 you are likely perimenopausal. The perimenopause is the 5-7 years before the true menopause occurs. Average age of menopause is 51 years 3 months.
