Insulin: Insulin levels vary widely over course of mere hours. insulin does not accumulate in the body. Tumors of the pancreas can produce excess insulin but are very rare. In general measuring insulin levels is fraught with difficulty and should be done and interpreted by an endocrinologist or someone with advanced training in diabetes. Treatment of high levels would be to treat the underlying cause.
