Not related: if your diabetes is controlled, nerve inflammation of diabetes needs sometime of uncontrolled blood sugar, moreover it affects the periphery (feet and hands) first rather than the big muscles, you are probably over exercising / exerting more stress on your muscles during the day, or may be not exercising enough, try warm compresses and mild pain killers if that doesn't work, see your doctor
