Zyvox (linezolid): Zyvox (linezolid) is an excellent narrow spectrum antibiotic that works against gram positive cocci. Staphylococcus (including MRSA), streptococcus and enterococcus are covered. There is now the emergence of LRSA (Linezolid resistant staph aureus) but it is relatively rare at present. This antibiotic will only fight these types of bacteria...all other gram negative bugs are not included in its spectrum.
