Yes: plan B is not a contraceptive It is to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex, not before! Sperm can be active 5 days ejaculation into the vagina. Plan B may be effective if taken within 72 hours after sexual intercourse. Sperm enter the cervix immediately, so douching is not protective. Start your regular birth control right after taking Plan B.
