In what ways are people tested for bipolar?

Varies as snowflakes: Ideally, everyone would have a thorough evaluation with a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist, have medical tests to rule out medical or metabolic diseases that can mimic it and have psychological testing. Fact is it probably depends on access to competent providers who will take the time - a function of finances, insurance, and managed care restrictions pressures. Look 4 the best.

Bipolar Disorder: Obtain a history from the person & if possible, from people who know the person well. Rule out medical causes of symptoms. Observe behavior. Consider psychological testing.
