Nof safe.: It is not safe to do home insemination. The sperm needs to be "washed" and professionally (fertility specialist) prepared. Inflammatory reactions can occur in some cases if it is not done by the fertility specialists. The success rate is the same as with intercourse, perhaps a bit less because there are usually fewer opportunities for insemination and timing may not cover the bases as well.
