I wouldn't recommend: First let's make sure your symptoms are consistent w/constipation predominant irritable bowel syndrome. While Librax (clinidium and chlordiazepoxide) is approved as gastrointestinal antispasmodic, it contains a long-acting benzodiazepine, that is very addicting & can cause confusion, memory loss, etc. So I wouldn't recomm

It is often: used for that purpose. Frankly, I would first, try different diets/foods to see which are better / worse and also consider amitryptiline.
