Not acne.: A contact dermatitis from a new product, is not acne Or if you have a mild flare of acne because of it, stopping it may well stop the flare. Wait and see what happens. Go back to your old skin care routine. If it does not get better in a week or so, see your doc.

Hormonal: In post adolescent females, low estrogen levels are often the cause of skin problems. Low thyroid function either due to inadequate iodine intake or autoimmune thyroiditis can also cause skin problems. Have your PCP check a complete thyroid panel and your ovarian and pituitary hormones on day 21 of your menstrual cycle. Best wishes.
