Inadequate foreplay: Are you sexually excited (lubricated) enough prior to actual act of sex? If not, then sex could be painful. Of course, some women do require water-based lubricant despite being sexually excited. Or pain could be due to positioning. Try different positions such as side-by-side spooning or you on top so that you can control depth of thrust. Experiment & have fun. Don't forget birth control + condoms
