It is probably OK: Pooling of blood can occur at places other than the incision after this type of surgery, but you should let your surgeon's office know tomorrow because there's not usually much bleeding expeced with these procedures. Meanwhile, some heat to the area (hot pad or bottle, low heat) will feel good and help it to resolve. Obviously, if you have a lot of pain or fever, you should call emergently.

It can be: It could be normal if the laparoscopic instrument was used to explore near the groin area. Using a laparoscope does not guarantee that just the incision site is the area of bruising.

Normal: to have bruising in your groin after inguinal hernia surgery. If you start to notice large amount of swelling with what appears to be collection of blood then you should contact your surgeon.
