Yes: Change in your menstrual cycle is common side effect of Depo-Provera. As long as you get injection every 12wks you're protected, regardless of whether or not you have your period. Check out http://www.webmd.com/sex/birth-control/birth-control-depo-provera. Try not to use Depo-Provera for more than 2yrs as your risk for bone loss increases.
