Seborrheic: Sounds like it could be seborrheic dermatitis, a common condition of the scalp as you describe. Selenium sulfide shampoos over the counter are effective but if that does not help prescriptions such as ketoconazole 2% shampoo, fluocinolone .01% or ciclopirox 1% shampoos are very effective as well. See your doctor for those. Best wishes.
