Hormonal fluctuation: during the menstrual cycle can cause changes in cervical mucus. There are a number of factors that can affect the body's response to this hormonal fluctuation. Also the amount of hormonal fluctuation and hormonal balance changes during a woman's life. Vaginal mucus is not usually reason for concern, unless there are other problems, such as odor, itching, burning, or discomfort or pain.
