14 days before: You can only make an educated guess when you think ovulation is going to occur. You subtract 14 days from the estimated date you predict will be the first day of your next period. Then you have sex in the days around that time knowing that intercourse around the time of ovulation is the most efficient way to get pregnant. Then you take a pregnancy test if you miss your period
