A member asked:

If you treat yourself for a yeast infection but do not have one... what will happen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Treatment cautions: Well, frankly, you've wasted money on whatever therapy you used. The other danger is you 'train' the microbes so that when you have a 'real' problem, the therapy might not be as effective. It's always best to get the guidance of a doctor. These days, there's 'too much' over the counter therapy, so you have to be careful. I think you'll be fine from this little episode, but next time I'd call a doc
