Hard to know: Rash is notoriously difficult to diagnose in this way. A physician would need to see the rash (ideally in person, but always take pictures in case it is transient) and also know more about coexisting symptoms, your recent activities/potential exposures, medications, medical history etc. Since it sounds new, hives, contact sensitivity and bug bites would be at the top of my list.
