Dermatographism: Dermatographism is caused by sensitivity of the mast cells in skin to mechanical disturbance thereby releasing local histamine and other vasoactive factors. See a physician if you have frequent hives or swelling or heat/cold sensitivity as there are medications to help and underlying systemic disease may need to be ruled out. If not, you shouldn't be affected in any other way. Good luck!
