Dermatitis: A dry itchy flaky ear canal is a manifestation of eczema of the ear canal skin. The skin of the ear canal is like skin in any other part of the external integument covering the outside of the body. There are several remedies such as 2% salicylic acid. If an ENT doctor can not be of help, consult a dermatologist, because this is simply an inflammation of the skin or a dermatitis of ear canal.
