Yes: Irregular menses, most likely due to anovulatory cycles, are common in teenage girls. Furthermore, your body takes time to adjust to hormones in birth control pills so spotting is common side effect. If concerned, go see prescribing physician. Don't forget to make him wear a condom each & every time to lower risk of sexually transmitted infections/diseases (not prevented by birth control pills).
