Delivery: Cholestasis is very high risk. Blood tests like bile acids may take up to one week. The diagnosis is based on symptoms of total body itching. The medication Ursadiol can be started. If itching improves then this likely confirms the diagnosis before the tests come back. The management decisions can be difficult. Most recommend delivery after 37 weeks due to the risks with cholestasis.
