Need birth control: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections & hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test . There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Trauma? Infection?: There is some trauma to the vagina the first time you have intercourse. This can cause some bleeding. (In bible times this was proof that you were really a virgin) An infection or pregnancy are other possibilities. A pregnancy test around May 5 would be a good idea. If you continue to have bleeding after your period next month, you need to see a doctor for an exam.
