Is it possible for accutane to cause ibd?

Very unlikely: There have been very large database studies that have not suggested an association between accutane and IBD. Only a few small studies suggested a possible relationship with ulcerative colitis but not Crohn's disease. The overwhelming evidence does not support a relationship.

Accutane: Accutane, a drug used to treat severe acne, has received the most severe FDA warning possible; the black box warning. Since then, Accutane has been the subject of several Accutane lawsuits and Accutane was pulled in 2009. Other names for Accutane are Claravis, Sotret and Amnesteem.
