Get pregnant!: Pregnancy stops one's periods for 9 months. OK, so maybe that's not a serious option. Chat w/your Family Doc about birth control. Or go to city/county Health Clinic or perhaps Planned Parenthood. Check out http://www.plannedparenthood.org/all-access/my-method to see what's best for you. Oral birth control pills can be taken in such a way as to stop menses. Contraceptive shots can do same, too.

Medicine: Periods can be stopped or delayed with medicines and contraceptive devices , which are by prescription (at least in the United States.) There are no reliable and safe "natural" ways to stop periods (except getting pregnant.) If you care to be more specific: stop 1 period? stop your periods for 6 months? forever? I can give a more specific answer. Good wishes.
