A member asked:

You hear so much about natural remedies for cleansing and detox; like probiotics, lemon water, honey, diatomaceous earth, essential oils, etc. do they really work?

Detox needs to be: carried out under a healthcare professional's supervision for safety and health. Some products work and you don't want to dislodge any stones in the body which can get stuck elsewhere. Kripalu Center in MA has a supervised raw juice fast retreat that may be of interest. Too fast detox can make you sick and deplete vitamins and minerals. Peace and good health.

No, not that way: Humans, designed or evolved over millions of years, are self-cleaning. That means we should eat what we are designed to eat, and our bodies will clear out unneeded materials without help. No supplements are needed, unless one wants extra fiber to move the bowels better. Proper diet, enough exercise, and a healthy mind should normalize bowels. Diseases may need treatment, but seldom supplements.
