Are you sure?: Unless you were frolicking barefoot through the woods, it might not be poison ivy. An itchy rash could also be athletes foot. That would require washing, drying and application of an antifungal cream or spray. If you are sure it's poison ivy, apply a drying agent such as caladryl and if the itching is too severe, either oral Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or an rx for steroids from your doctor.
