ABO hemolysis: Hemolysis in newborns due to ABO incompatibility is not preventable, but is manageable under the care of an experienced pediatrician or neonatologist. For this reason, newborns from mothers with type O blood type or who are Rh- will be screened closely for this condition, as early recognition and intervention is key to successful recovery.
