A member asked:

What are the stages of infection in regards to food poisoning?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Food poisoning: It kind of depends on 'what' the agent is that's causing the food poisoning, in order to best understand the symptoms and the course of the disease. For some food poisonings (like Staph aureus preformed toxin) you have vomiting within a few hours of eating the spoiled food. For others, like Salmonella, it may take about 18 hours or possibly longer for the bacteria to set up an infection. See doc!
